Biography:
Dr. Gurumurthy B. R. is a distinguished academic and researcher in textile technology with a strong foundation in materials science, nanotechnology, and biocomposites. He earned his Ph.D. in Textile Technology from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2015, with a specialization in the predictive modeling of defense textiles using Kevlar fabric and artificial neural networks. His academic pursuits extend to smart textiles, biomedical applications, and nano-enhanced functional materials, with a deep interest in structural analysis of textiles, phase change materials, and integrating smart functionalities in protective fabrics.
With more than 16 years of experience spanning teaching, research, and industry, Dr. Gurumurthy has served in various academic and leadership roles, notably as Associate Professor at VFSTR University in India and at the Federal Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute (FTVETI) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. His work has significantly advanced the field of high-performance and defense textiles. He has mentored doctoral students, collaborated on international research initiatives, and contributed to the development of innovative materials for protective and functional applications.
