Dr. Jia Wang is an independent principal investigator and professor of Guangzhou Medical University, China. Jia Wang got his Ph.D. degree of Medical Sciences in the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 2013, and completed Post-doc fellow research in Sun Yat-sen University from 2016-2021. In 2021, Jia Wang was enrolled into Guangzhou Medical University. Jia’s works mainly focus on how phase separation of the cancer-related factors regulates 3D genome for cancer development. He has published several impactful works on Cell Stem Cell, Journal of Pathology, Oncogene, Cancer Letters, Stem Cell Reports, et al. His representative work has shown that phase separation of OCT4 controls reorganization of topologically associating domain (TAD) for cell fate transitions. This is the first evidence to show the causal relationship between phase separation and TAD reorganization. Because of the significance, this work has been selected as the cover article by Cell Stem Cell (Volume 28, Number 10, Oct 7, 2021), and selected as one of the twelve Research Highlights in 2021 by Nature Structural & Molecular Biology. His works also include development of new technologies to manipulate phase separation ability of proteins, and new technologies to manipulate 3D genome architectures.
